Will elder scrolls skyrim link upto to the previous elder scrolls games?

You see i have pre-ordered elder scrolls v:skyrim for the pc but i havent played any of the other elder scrolls games can anyone sum up what is going on or redirect me to a link or somet.

I basically want to know he story so far

The stories are intertwined but take place years after each other and are not directly related. The previous games story can usually be found in books in game.

I will give a brief summary of the story of each.

Arena: An adventurer must rescue the Emperor from his treacherous Battle Mage

Daggerfall: An adventurer must prevent an powerful Iron golem from ending up in the wrong hands.

Morrowind: An adventurer is tasked by the emperor to uncover the secrets behind an ancient prophecy and prevent the rise of a new god

Oblivion: An adventurer must seek out the heir to the imperial throne after the Emperor is slain and prevent the invasion of the world (Tameriel) but the Daedra (TES Demon) Mehrunes Dagon



Skyrim is set 200 years after Oblivion. With no emperor the empire is falling apart. In the province of Skyrim there is civil war and a new threat arises in the form of the Nord god of Destruction.Will elder scrolls skyrim link upto to the previous elder scrolls games?
No, they are all different. Which is kind of a good thing. The last one was fun, Oblivion, but with a sword and shield is was super hard to kill multiple enemies at the same time, even if they were lower levels.Will elder scrolls skyrim link upto to the previous elder scrolls games?
Each TES game has a different story. You won't miss anything much except a few small references.
