Does Elder Scrolls have continued story?

I want to play skyrim, but i want to know ALL the story before. Does it have a continuing story from each one to the next. Even small things like plot lines like a battle they mention from like the 3rd Elder Scrolls.Does Elder Scrolls have continued story?
The story in each game in completely unrelated to the other games. There is no need whatever to play the previous games to understand the story in the current one.

The Elder Scrolls games all take place in the same game world. Each game is set in a different province of Tamriel. As such there are many references to characters, events, and locations which might not make sense unless you've played previous games. For example, a reference in Oblivion to the Tribunal would not be understood without having played Morrowind: Tribunal. These references are only background details, though. None of them are terribly important. The game should explain what you need to know.

There are four main Elder Scrolls games are Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion. They are all really large and long, and it is unlikely you'd finish them in time. Arena and Daggerfall can both be downloaded legally for free. Morrowind and Oblivion are both really good and highly recommended. You would not regret your time with any of these games. However, you should not feel obliged to play any of them to prepare for Skyrim, either.Does Elder Scrolls have continued story?
No not really, well at least the 3rd one to the fourth one doesn't (that's Morrowind to Oblivion) but i do recommend that you play Oblivion it is an extremely good game, it's my favorite in fact. I'm also looking forward to skyrim :P
